"You say that it is your custom to burn widows. Very well. We also have a custom: when men burn a woman alive, we tie a rope around their necks and we hang them. Build your funeral pyre; beside it, my carpenters will build a gallows. You may follow your custom. And then we will follow ours."--General Sir Charles James Napier

For some odd reason, I suck at ALL FPS except Quake series and Half life Mods.

Actually, Starfox is a prime example of a 'shoot em up'. You are moved through the play field at a rate out of your control and must dodge obsticles and shoot things as they apear.

Don't forget System Shock and System Shock 2! Both were truely ground-breaking games, and had spooky atmospheres that other FPS and RPGs can't match.

So games which involve shooting things up are not shoot 'em ups? Fascinating.

No, games that involve rodents flying spacecraft are jokes. As are most games found on Nintendo platforms.

I'm still sticking with Wolf3D. The one and only.

Dude, leave Starfox alone. The original was an almighty cool game.

I find 2 kinds of gamers extremlyannoying.

                        1. Gaphic too obsessed gamers. You can give the ****tiest game in the world but if it looks pretty they'll praise it. OTOH if the game has the best gameplay but done in 320X240, they'll **** talk the game to death.

                        2. Gamers who care too much about the image that the game/character portrays. There's too many of those in my favorite game, soul calibur II. Fanboys going "OMG OMG SPAWN OWNZ JOO HE GOT A KICK ASS AXE AND HARDCORE BAD ASS LOOKS" and "Link SuCkS, hE iS tEh GaY TitE wEaRiN eLf... etc"

Who the **** cares if the game has rodents piloting the plane? It was the most fun game for snes. I dont think Wolf3D would be automatically craptastic if u were shooting rodents not nazis. Oh wait, it would have. Cause only thing good about Wolf 3D was that you got to shoot nazis. Gameplay sucked, AI was retarded and way too easily abusable and it was waaaaaaay too easy.

                        P.S Link does suck

They're just frickin pictures in the corner of the screen. Not a reason to dismiss the game as a joke.

Return to Castle Wolfenstein was good on PC, but sucked big time on PS2. Crappy interface, 'nuff said. I think the console pad will never top the keyboard and mouse for shooter ergonomics.

but my computer stool and 19' monitor will never top my big, comfy armchair and 36' TV
