Oerdin, you live in a state of dreaming, not a dream state.
Life is not measured by the number of breaths you take, but by the moments that take your breath away.

He also hates Texans and Australians, he does diversify." ~ Braindead
I've been to every region in this country and it is Oregon by a mile.
I can't even begin to describe the many, many reasons for the hippiness here, but I've spent time in some honest to god still funtioning, step into the time machine communes here and it is alive and kicking.
Plus, I've met quite a few people here whose first names are actually adjectives.
Life and death is a grave matter;
all things pass quickly away.
Each of you must be completely alert;
never neglectful, never indulgent.
For some reason, there was a disproportionately large number of people from Oregon that got ticketed for THC during the Greatful Dead reunion concert awhile back.
I agree with Oerdin - California is the hipest place in the US ... But then I might be a little bit jaded ...

Minnesota! Northern Minnesota to be precise. Lots of tree-huggers in that area (Lake of the Woods, Lake Itasca, Voyeguer's Nat'l Park, etc.). Downtown Minneapolis-St. Paul is also VERY liberal, It is all those suberbanites that seem to be mainly conservatives.
The winters here arn't as cold as most people think, they are just LOOOOOOONG. The coldest it gets around here on a winter morning is about -30F MAX, usually about -8F, the average January high is about 10F but "heat waves" that get us to the melting point are quite common. If you live in the south our summers are heaven by comparison. We also have AWESOME fishing
South Florida, Southern California, and NYC are the hippist places in the US.
Christianity: The belief that a cosmic Jewish Zombie who was his own father can make you live forever if you symbolically eat his flesh and telepathically tell him you accept him as your master, so he can remove an evil force from your soul that is present in humanity because a rib-woman was convinced by a talking snake to eat from a magical tree...
New York and New Orleans are the hippest places in the US - but not with respect to the laws.

If the temperature dips below 60 degrees F for more the a 2-3 day stretch then the place is unfit for human inhabitation as far as I'm concerned. I love San Diego where the average yearly temperature is 70 degrees without a cloud in the sky.
Still, it gets boring sometimes when you have the same weather during Christmas as you do in the summer.

Don't you freeze to the trees when you hug them, at negative fahrenheit?
