        I think a large part of this is due to the context in which the misspelled words are placed. I mean if there is a whole sentence then you have more to go on.

              Words alone are more difficult as well, since we often read by anticipating the next word. Especially when reading quickly.

                              Prolly works better if the letters are displaced only a short distance from the proper position to gev some clue to the syllables. With "catasehicticrarl" the first r is moved at least 9 positions, which is far to confusing, etc.
