Ramo, that's only half the point. Why does SI use the kilogram as the basis instead of the gram? The other uses the centimeter instead of the meter.
They should've made the base mass unit of a more usable size.

and yes, 3.3 feet per meter. I'm not thining clearly- though I rarely am.

I am a current student and I feel comfortable with the metric system. The United States should start to switch. I can easily understand the metric system when it comes to measuring things in chem class and people would catch on fast if everyday things like the speed limit became metric. I can visualize how fast 45 mph is but if someone said drive about 72.5 kph I would be lost.Comment
