Why some people in the US can't understand the metric system.

The English system has the best of both worlds. We learn and calculate everything in metric and then express it all in imperial so that our American friends don't get confused whilst Europeans do..

Worse than that, it's French.

If I had been taught metric FIRST, I would be fine with it. But noooo-oh. I was taught the Imperial system first, and THEN they tried to teach metric on top of it. It's not that I don't get it. It's that I already have one system in my head and don't want another.
Actually I like inches better because they are bigger, and miles better because they are bigger. And definately pounds over KG. But I'm not very familiar with the imperial system measurements of liquids, so I measure liquids with the metric system and do other things with the imperial system.

Well, he's right that Farenheit is more precise. It's good for Everyday Joe's like me. Also, it makes those '5 degree guarantees' a bit more challenging for the meterologists, which means more money for schools. Thus, Farenheit helps improve education. Also, it's a German name, isn't it? And, as we all know, nothing German can be bad. On a side note: Volkswagon should really consider using that as a slogan.
Anyway, Celsius is more practical for sciences. Because, let's be hontest, Farenheit is pretty ****ed up.
