I'm not really a rap fan, but I think those guys from Helsinki who had a hit a couple of years ago were quite cool. Especially the chicks in their video were hot (the one with the guy with a Walkman in the subway). Can't remember the name of the band though.

          Stefu,

If I recall correctly, you're a student of English translation. You should be able to translate us those lyrics. Or at least provide an avatar to Monk who's bordering on a nervous breakdown.

"I can't remember the the band's name, but the video chicks were hot" -- what more needs be said?
No, I did not steal that from somebody on Something Awful.

I believe you're all talking about Bom Funk MC's (is that spelt right?), who IMHO were an insidious plague that infected music charts worldwide.

Okay, I'll use my mad translatin' skills and try to translate a part of perhaps his most egregious offense so far, "Oma Perhe". Note that the parts in cursive are rapped by his own father and mother.

Father you are always in my heart and mind
You help when everything goes wrong
I remember when I was little and waited for you from work
in a hot summer day, to play footie
You are my hero, you still are
An example to a little man
Though we don't talk like we used to
I love you and I know that
you forgive me and love me back
I know that I'll learn from mistakes, be better
You've helped me out of many messes
But I hope you could still, at some time, say

Hey G I am proud of you
and your achievements, especially the music
You can do everything you try
Believe in yourself and don't give an inch

Well, it looks like I just couldn't make it to the parts where he raps about his mother and sisters. But still, IT'S A RAP ABOUT HOW MUCH HE LOVES HIS PARENTS AND THOSE PARENTS ARE GUESTING AAAARGH

And Monk, I need that Tarja Halonen picture. If you give up your avatar, how am I going to have access to it?

Yeah, that's the one. Can't remember Helsinki having a subway though. Was the video shot in Stockholm?

                            Stefu,

                            1) You were right, there was no reason at all for translating the thing. I'll need a drink to get any sleep tonight.

                            2) I'm going to change my avatar to something else right now. You still have the chance to supply to me the unique, specially manufactured avatar that I so richly deserve.
