Warning: "Prejudice Whining" Alert--Activate Low-Level Ignore

It's just natural tendency of people who have ever dealed with a 12 year old on the internet.

To make a poor, broad, and overdone analogy: If someone ever tried to murder you in a back alley, you'd be a little more cautious walking around at night wouldn't you?

yes, and ur right ur analogy is poor. I will tell u why, the generalization(prejudice) is done as a reaction to personal safety. it is done so u don't DIE. this prejudice is done so a bunch of ppl who think themselves so superior to 12 year olds that they can bandwagon a person who uses shorthand.

      *runs from irony*

What's it have to do with 12 year olds? if Someone goes out of his way to be annoying - which is what shortspeak does (one less letter in a two or three letter word does not save time, and you must train yourself to spell like that) - and doesn't value his post enough to proof read or present it in a readable fashion, why should am I going to read it?

See shorthand is great when you have a character constraint or a time constraint. When you have neither, readability is more of a priority, no? and then its just a pain in the arse.
              Concrete, Abstract, or Squoingy?

If the others you are conversing with is (are?) using it as well, then it's ok. If the others you are conversing with are NOT using it, then it is not ok - it then becomes annoying.

It doesn't add distinctiveness it just makes your posts harder to follow.

Whoever said ten minutes - sorry, I was out for lunch.

Yep, there are tons of RIAA threads, and this one is loaded with spam, so if you want to post about the RIAA, find one of those threads, if you want to spam, too bad.
