No he didn't. He's been brain dead since 1983. Seriously, that was when his Alzheimer's started affecting him.

This sucks. I like 3 Simple Rules, etc... bla bla bla.

I'll mis John Ritter, he always made me laugh.

I heard this morning that ABC has already cancelled the show, since Ritter was the central figure. Haven't seen that verified on the AP reports, though.

                  I sort of knew him

When I lived in LA, he and I used to belong to the same gym. Although I worked out regularly, the only times I saw him was in the sauna. At the time, he seemed to be letting himself go. With clothes on, he still looked OK, but in the sauna you could see that he was getting really overweight (especially in the belly area). He was friendly enough, but not that funny. I guess he did not feel the need to be "on" in the privacy of his gym. Rodney Dangerfield used to go to the same gym. Physically, he was really disgusting. But, he was quite funny. I guess he is always kind of "on".

I once did an autopsy on a guy who died from a dissection of the aorta. If you've ever seen a ruptured plumbing pipe, then you know what a dissection of the aorta looks like. From what I know, loss of consciousness and death is very quick from such an event.

This probably doesn't technically count, but there was an assassination attempt on FDR in February 1933, less than a month before he was inaugurated as president.

FDR being attacked by evil little girl, believed to be one them nazi psycho-kids, jungfrau! This after Russian chemicals put him in a wheel chair! I'd say FDR was attacked numerous times!

I've read that this sort of death can happen to weightlifters as well, since your systolic blood pressure skyrockets when you do an excercise like bench press.

                          Trigger

The increase in systolic pressure can act as a trigger, but the aorta would have to be weak to begin with. Either some congential thing or a connective tissue disease. Marphan's Syndrome is both (see Flo Hymen), but I'm certain John Ritter did not suffer from Marphan's.

Ritter's dad, Tex Ritter, died of a heart attack, so perhaps heart ailments ran in the family.

                              Damn!

I first saw Johnny Cash had died, and thought what a sad day. NOW, I see Ritter has died . It just makes this day even worse.

Well, Jon, it seems God has written you into the biggest gag at last.

                                Farewell.
