  • What's your favorite salsa?

The greatest snack in the world is, of course, tortilla chips and salsa.

        happy?

I voted specialty brand as I ussually get some cheap salsa that is hot and saucy, add it to a pico de gallo with some tobasco, extra cilantro, and more lime...

Why vote... the poll is absurd. Anyone who doesn't vote for some specialty brand hasn't had enough salsa to be eligible to vote anyhow. Pace = trash.

The best salsa I have had is called Pedro's, made by Pedro himself (seriously there's one old Mexican guy that makes this stuff, his face is on the label). You can only get it in New Mexico. It's wonderful, made with green chiles and it's nice and hot.

I have a friend in New Mexico that sends me some from time to time.

Of the store bought brands, I like Tostitos best. Paces has too much tomato sauce in it. My favorite, however, is at Fiesta Mexicana in Chicago at the corner of Halsted and Lincoln.

Or you could just order it off the web.

Japher: Not quite make-your-own, so I guess calling it specialty

You should try Laredo & Lefty's. It is nice and limey.

What, you don't make your own?

Busta Mike: some of us are too cheap to fork out $5 for a little jar of specialty salsa.

Asher: I have a friend who grows all kinds of peppers most of us have never heard of, and he makes an awesome salsa.

Che: Yep, I forgot about Tostitos because where I usually shop the Tostitos stuff is over on the chips aisle, while most of the other brands are in the Mexican aisle

Pace is the only big brand that is hot enough to be considered hot. The others are wimpy.

Pace is nothing. Get some green salsa, and then you will know what hot means.
