    Anyone up for travelling..? j/k

For those that don't know, due to the combination of England's trouble with "hooliganism" and the fact that two Leeds fans got stabbed to death in Istanbul two years ago, England fans are banned from travelling to Turkey.

However, the president of the Turkish FA has pretty much invited English fans over there.

    Interesting situation.

I'd much rather 4000 England fans go over and make a good show of ourselves rather than be sitting ducks like the 200 or so in Macedonia were.

        Apparently only 200 went.

          Bods/ Mr Avenue

Its not just English hooliganism, the Turks are no slouches, as the killings indicate.

I hope Stevie G knocks some heads together on the way to an emphatic win.

I heard that. I read about spitting and death threats by FYROM players.

It's the way he said 'sitting ducks like the 200...' that made me wonder if something happened to some fans.

England don't need to win, so they should do ok.

When a team goes into a game only needing to avoid defeat, it quite often approaches it the wrong way.

See S&M vs Wales for a recent example.

Liverpool - Arsenal in '89, we only had to avoid defeat by two clear goals to win the League, played too defensivly and lost 2-0

                          Aberystwyth - Rhyl, last weekend.

Aber 2-0 up at half time, 2 goals from Marc Lloyd Williams.

                          Let's defend the lead...

                          2-2 at full time.

hopefully we'll play better than we did in macedonia. might be an idea to have two wingers playing this time, instead of none though :/
