Interesting how there are those in this thread who wish death upon people who they disagree with. THAT reminds me of Sep11.
Anyway, Sep11 at first changed me quite a bit but then I reverted back to myself. At first I was very sorrowful, etc etc...However eventually logic set in. The logic that this was simply a small spec in the larger picture was undeniable. Maybe this was a much more grand death than others but it still was only a small speck.
I largely saw Sep11 as a sign of the violent aftereffects of US foreign policy and began to fear that the same mistakes would be made due to this event.
I gave a lot of blood and made a few donations. But really the only change Sep11 permanently caused in me was made me even more left wing.Comment

9/11 changed things for everyone, directly or indirectly. The effect of the Congolese civil war, the effect of Rwanda genocide, the effect of countless other greater tragedies have little to no effect on our lives, they are regional affairs. The US is not a regional power, it is an integral part of world politics and economics and is the strongest military in the world. That is why 9/11 is more important to the population of the world than events in Africa. Right or wrong that may be, it is.One day Canada will rule the world, and then we'll all be sorry.Comment
