  • I'm going to college!

They actually let me back in with 52% attendence last year!!!

I'm taking A2 English Lit, AS Psychology, AS Sociology, and AS Philosophy part time (though I learned the AS and A2 syllabus at home during the summer, as well as the extra curricular stuff).

The college is pretty lame though, full of retarded idiots, disillusioned teachers, and really really hot girls that are ruined by the fact that they are "townies" (the English know what I'm on about, someone else can translate, its too late).

Anyone know what the courses will be like? Anyone else manage to get in by the skin of their teeth?

How come you only had 52% attendance? Seriously, they must have been pretty desperate for people if they let you in with that little.

I skipped lessons a hell of a lot. Sometimes just to go into town, other times the pub, but mostly the library because I actually learn more on my own than from teachers.

Of course, they bought the "I was ill" argument simply because I had a lot of faked doctors notes .

They let me back in because they like me! (and I flirted with my (female) interviewer).

You might learn from your teachers if you go to class.

Libraries are better. You can get more in depth, specific info there. As someone who specialises a lot (physics, humanities, philosophy, and specific areas within them), that works best for me. Learning a load of irrelevant stuff from a teacher won't help me. Grades sucked a bit but I can live with that, theyre not representative of my ability in the field. I always been pretty good at learning how to complete a paper on my own as well anyways, just last year didn't bother much with that.

Not at college you won't. Teachers are no good here, I did better when I didn't go to class.

Also, not going to college means not having to get up at 6.30am

Well done reds! Seriously though, I learn a hell of a lot more from the library.

By college do you mean that pre-university thing they have in England?

Sort of. A 6th form and a college are basically parallel things, colleges offering courses other than AS/A2's and GNVQ's, in a more relaxed, less "school-like" atmosphere.

                          And they still suck!

Going into school/college while wasted or stoned is great fun though!

Reminds me of grade 7/8... I'd be surprised if I even had 50% attendence. I was "sick" 2 or 3 times a week.
