CTRL+clicking does work....
How to I get "link button" things up in the toolbar like I can in IE and Mozilla?
a) Click on tab. Drag to any toolbar. Let go.
b) Click on link. Drag to any toolbar. Let go.
You can change the text display settings for a toolbar by right-clicking. The name will always be displayed in the tooltip.
How do I make the status bar stop auto-hiding and stay visible all the time at the bottom?
Ever try right-clicking on things? Most things in Opera have a context menu.
It's also under View, though that's slightly less intuitive for me.
Why can't you mass-delete favorites?
Huh?
a) Select multiple bookmarks. Click on Delete. Works.
b) Select multiple bookmarks. Hit Del. Works.
c) Select multiple bookmarks. Drag onto Trash. Works.
Is there any way for it not to show the tab-bar if there's only one tab? Like Mozilla.
I'll mention that in the opera.wishlist newsgroup.Blog | Civ2 Scenario League | leo.petr at gmail.com

Oh, that's the Progress Bar.
Go to Preferences > Toolbars and Windows.
You can set it to pop-up, to replace the address bar, or to be always off.
All of the Progress Bar fields are found in the Customize Toolbars... dialog (right-click on a toolbar or go View > Customize Toolbars...), so you can turn it off and move all of its fields to whatever bar you want to keep at the bottom of the screen. Status or Navigation are good candidates.Blog | Civ2 Scenario League | leo.petr at gmail.com

"Any toolbar" definitely doesn't work. I got it working by adding a Personal bar, then dragging links to it. It won't let me drag links to the main bar with the back/forward/reload/etc buttons.a) Click on tab. Drag to any toolbar. Let go.

See, I was trying to mass-delete by selecting all the links on the left panel, not the right. That whole dialog setup boggles my mind -- why isn't there a link on the left to the ROOT of the tree, so you can easily mass select everything on the right and hit delete to remove all bookmarks? It seems incredibly silly to have to choose one of the options, then hit up.Huh?

I'm also really looking for a fix to make it stop making image boxes size to the alt text, then load it. It makes me dizzy because the screen objects keep radically changing positions when they don't have to. It's such a simple thing, I don't even /want/ the alt-text on unless I mouseover it."The issue is there are still many people out there that use religion as a crutch for bigotry and hate. Like Ben."

Weird. I actually use CTRL+SHIFT+click myself and that does work in that case. I only checked CTRL+click when you suggested it.

Oh, you need to right-click and uncheck Lock buttons first. Sorry, forgot. Mine was off already.

Odd. Are you on dial-up? You could go to Preferences > Windows > Loading and set the redrawing to After 20 Seconds or so. That's a new option in this release, so I don't know how that would pan out.

In which case you are screwed because both Opera and Mozilla display the title-text or address-text instead of the alt-text on mouseovers.:PBlog | Civ2 Scenario League | leo.petr at gmail.com

No, I'm not on dialup. Pages load nearly instantly, it's just distracting to have like all of the smilies start out for the first 0.5s as big wide things, then shrink down (which shoves the whole page back over) a second later. It seems silly.Originally posted by St Leo

Newer builds of Mozilla support ALT-text, if Bonsai is correct. In which case you are screwed because both Opera and Mozilla display the title-text or address-text instead of the alt-text on mouseovers.:P

Open your style sheet (the path is under Preferences > Page Style).Originally posted by Zopperoni
Dammit, for the fourth time: can I switch off "marquee"?
Mine's at:
C:\Documents and Settings\petrazi\Application Data\Opera\Opera7\profile\styles\user.css
Add:
That will make all marquee content invisible. The "!important" forces it to over-ride page settings (I think).Code:marquee {display: none !important}Blog | Civ2 Scenario League | leo.petr at gmail.com

Do you have your cache set to zero?

Traitors! ALT is for screen-readers and TITLE is for tooltips. Grr.:PBlog | Civ2 Scenario League | leo.petr at gmail.com
