A British scientist says that the Y chromosome is decaying at an alarming rate. He predicts if nothing changes, that in ~125,000 years, men will go extinct.

The Y chromosome has survived in other mammals for millions of generations, I can't see any reason why humans would be so different.
In any case, nature would select those few men with mutations that protect the chromosome from degeneration so humans could still continue to contaminate this planet

There can be no "decay rate". There is only a (relatively) constant value for the percent of the population that is infertile, because those who are infertile will not pass on their genes. So that percent reflect the chance of birth defects etc.Originally posted by The diplomat
