The Zionists used it successfully against the Brits.

Source? Not that I don't believe it, it's the first time I hear this version.
Oredin is at least correct wrt to the lease of New Territories (the area north of the aptly named Boundary Street, plus all the islands other than Hong Kong).

Terrorism works only on this level, it causes fear, and gains support of sympathatic people to join the terrorist cause. Other then that terrorism is just the desperate attempts of people to bring about what they wish. If a terrorist did not have alot kids then they would snuff themselfs out by all dieing in suicide attacks, or if they lost support of people. It is not a very good tactic to use to wage wars, but it is good for distractions, gaining support of other terrorist wannabees, and quick very high destructive attack on millions.

The Malvidas, (they ARE in Latin America aren't they? As far as I know english is not the langauge there) had not achieved independance in the first place, isn't that true?
About as relevant as saying Cyprus is off the coast of Turkey- and expecting everyone to call it by the Turkish name for Cyprus.
Guyana, Surinam and Guiane (or French Guyana) are all in South America- in Guyana they speak English, in Surinam, Dutch, and in French Guyana, French. 'Latin' America has two main languages, Brazilian Portuguese and Spanish, as well as a host of Indian languages, and large populations of, for instance, Japanese immigrants in Brazil and Peru. And a colony of Welsh speakers in Argentina itself. I wouldn't have bothered replying to such a tedious lame duck troll, but the pathetic ignorant sneering riled me no end.

No, but I'm beginning to suspect your ancestors may have failed to.
Tell me, were the Spanish or Portuguese 'native' to South America?
Regardless, the Falklands were a British colony, the inhabitants spoke English and called themselves Falkland Islanders. Not the Spanish name for French whalers out of St. Malo.

I'm pretty sure the Brits would have called American minutemen 'terrorists' if the word was fashionable at that time.
Terrorists rarely describe themselves this way. They are considered 'terrorists' only because an opposite (more influent) party successfully tags them so.
If we were a forum of radical Palestinians / Chechens / FARC or whatever, I highly doubt we would be talkin about terrorists... Except when talking about the oppressive Jewish/Russian/Capitalist pig-dogs that is

Urban Ranger:correct me if I'm wrong, but the Haganah actually didn't commit any terrorist actions? And considering the Haganah/Jewish Agency represented the overwhelming majority, could one not argue that your statement is a generalisation, and that "the" zionists did no such thing? Then again, those zionists who committed these actions did succeed, I suppose, but they were certainly helped along by arab attacks in the region as well.
"You say that it is your custom to burn widows. Very well. We also have a custom: when men burn a woman alive, we tie a rope around their necks and we hang them. Build your funeral pyre; beside it, my carpenters will build a gallows. You may follow your custom. And then we will follow ours."--General Sir Charles James Napier
I've never heard of a group calling themselves terrorists.
I dare say that therefore there is no terrorist agenda.
So what would define their succes .
Terrorism is a typical term that is reserved for the beholder of the perceived terrorist act. The term is coined for internal use of the victim of the act committed against them. Labelling an act as terrorism is a defensive move, not an offensive one.

You're thinking of the New Territories which were only leased for 100 years. The island was siezed during the first Opium War and was British "in perpetuity". Thatcher decided that the island couldn't survive economically without the new territories so she agreed to give both back to China.
The New Territories were all that was leased. Hong Kong Island was British Territory. However, I thought that their claim pre-dated the Opium Wars...Hmmm...will have to look it up.
