It all depends on the job.

My CV for example is about 5 pages long. It takes about 2 (not quite) to detail all my qualifications and the places I have been, teaching experience etc. It takes another two to list my publications. And then I need about another page to describe what my research is about (and that is tough to get on a page).

I don't even put any hobbies or outside interests on.

Teaching is different though (are you a teacher still?). My wives teaching resume is long, but the one she uses to get biotech jobs is rather short.

I'm think of starting out as:
