bump. it seems that the floppy disk drive is f@cked up. I am considering a reformat. What kind of software should I place there later, and how the **** can I do that with no floppy drive?

Hmm...
Put win95 or 95se or 98.
Use office 97 or 2000. Not XP. Install just word, and maybe, maybe excel.
Maybe install a good sound application, and instant mp3 converter, and record the sessions...
Also, install a media player, and bring porn / funny movies, for the more boring parts of class

try going to Bios and making IDE:0 the boot device
you may be trying to boot from a floppy with no disk in the driveComment

In fact thats probally whats happening, don't re-format, just boot from your HDComment
