Ethel Merman was a Broadway star of the 40's & 50's. She's known for her very loud, nasal singing voice. Star of "Annie Get Your Gun." Her biggest song hit was "There's No Business Like Show Business." Her last major appearance was IIRC in "It's a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World" where she played the obnoxious mother-in-law.

Oh yeah, Revenge of the Nerds... how could I forget them... maybe because I haven't seen them in 4 years... they've never shown in TV, and you can't buy those movies anywhere
This space is empty... or is it?

                Some good choices so far

                I didn't see mentioned;

Monty Python and the Holy Grail
                Animal House
                Happy Gilmour
                Who's Harry Crumb?
                American Pie
                Top Secret!
                Dumb and Dumber

I'm sure i've forgotten many, but those are classics

Back on-topic, an excellent one I haven't seen mentioned is Clean Slate.

The other movies you have listed were pretty damn funny, I just didn't feel like they were the funiest.

Don't they always go together and remind you of one another?

I'll just mention those not mentioned earlier.

Harry Crumb is cartoonist R. Crumb's younger brother, also a talented cartoonist.

Nobody has mentioned Murder By Death, one of my all-time favs.

I also found The Gods Must Be Crazy side-splitting the first time I saw it, then I saw it again with a friend and it was… nothing. No repeat viewing value whatsoever. I had to pretend to laugh just to keep from spoiling the thing for my friend. Most puzzling. But everyone I know laughed themselves silly the first time around.

Hmm, I *loved* the Gods Must Be Crazy when I saw it, but have not seen it a second time.

I totally forgot about it, actually.
