k, drop me a PM if you want it...It scans well, but I use winXP and I just got a new Dell A940 all in one, so i don't need it.

i was also told by apolytoners who i cant remember who they were that upgrading can come to nothing. for example, a 512 mb ram card won't mean much with my 266 mhz processor. would this be that big of an issue upgrading from a 2mb video card to possibly a 32 mb assuming i cant find anything lower?

Speed of the memory. 150 isn't very common. 100, and 133 are the most common, and 133 is generally your best bet. it is backwards compatible with 100. 512 mb of memory is always going to be better than 256, but you have to make sure your motherboard can handle it. If your computer is 5 years old, it can probably takes a max of 128 MB of memory in each slot. 256 at most. You need to check on that before you start spending money on memory. As for the video card. It depends on the type of agp card. You have to make sure and get one that will fit in your AGP slot.

Go by a high school, college, or university. They might have old stuff that's not needed anymore.

A mate of mine works at the university, and I got lots of old stuff from him (including an 8MB videocard).

Albert make sure that Alien v Predator doesn't need a 4Mb 'Accelerator' and not just a graphics card. if it runs under Open GL or Glide a bog standard card won't do, you my need an old Voodoo or Banshee type card

Wow... the computer is pretty damn cheap. Of course when I get a new computer it's gotta be around $2,000 to work for me and the programs I'd be running .
