Astronomy is definitely one of the earliest sciences, if not the earlist one. The night sky holds infinite facination for ancient peoples. Furthermore, only with astronomy could one make an accurate calendar, which was of utmost importance to any agrarian society.

western astrology fails for me (i'm a pisces-aquarius cusp, but only about half of it is accurate), while eastern astrology works quite well for me (i'm a water boar).

obviously, it only works depending on where you're from. thus, the number 13 is not something i need to be afraid of, but the number 4 is. i'm asian, which is why that's the case.

astrology and numerology, all of those voodoo things are fine if you believe in that stuff. if you don't, then that's fine too.
people need some sort of thing to believe in.

Solver, was he doing Indian astrology or Western?

            Indian definitely...

UR, you know, alchemy was the false science derived from chemistry... I believe astrology might be the false one derived from astronomy.

Oh yeah, I forgot that little feature. Jesus was born and lived in the age of Pisces - the fish - so we see the fish linked with him.
There is an interpretation of Moses in the desert and his destruction of the golden bull made by the Jews that claims he was symbolically informing his people that they were no longer in the age of Taurus so images representing a past age were no longer valid.

Even if people do need something to believe in, that doesn't make it true.

Doesn't make it false either But I'd say we're safe in believing astrology is bunk.

                        Did I say it was

It's just that people always seem to say it in defense of religion.
