Eh? It's a screen you know - air goes through, insects don't
What kinda screen are you thinking of?

I agree with elijah that moths should all die, the little ****ers. I think they should genetically engineer a virus to get rid of all evil bugs

A window screen is a fine wire mesh that goes in your window, sort of like a net
Ah!!! Now that's an idea, though I'm not sure how fine it would have to be. It would be better for ventilation as the energy of the moving air would not be dissipated by a rigid wire mesh, unlike a flexible fabric .

If evolution is a fact, then moths will evolve into indoor-fearing animals.

This talks about repairing the kind of screen I mean -- I'm putting it here because it includes close-ups.

BTW, I've never been in a house or building with openable windows that didn't have screens as standard equipment.

We don't have those screens and such in the UK. We've clearly been deprived. I dont think these are available in the UK specifically, so what could I use in its place?

Neither have I. We leave our windows open on the nice days we don't need air conditioning... and if we didn't have screens, flying insects would rule our home

We're normally ok in the summer during the day, during the night the rest of my family keep their windows closed, but thats uncomfortable for me.

When will the bloody things die?? And another thing.. why are moths perpetually covered in dust?!?! Seems like everything they touch leaves dust everywhere .

                      That isn't dust.

See if your can find fibreglass mesh at your hardware store, build a frame that fits your window, and mount the mesh on the frame.

                            *utter disbelief*

The only buildings I've ever been in that didn't have screens were ones where a screen was taken out to put in an air conditioner. I'm not sure that it would be possible to survive around here without screens, you'd be drained of blood when you woke up in the morning.

That is unpleasant!!! On the other hand, it would explain why I have never seen them falling victim to a spiders web or sticky paper.

dv8ed: I think we're heading in that direction, global warming and all increasing the population of evil, evil insects. These screens may be more common in a few years, but I personally have never seen them in the UK.

Get a window fan and have it suck air out of your room. Provides ventilation, keeps moths out, keeps air cool.
