The story of how it nearly didn't happen is one of the most interesting in the history of the automobile.

They're talking about the old one being discontinued, not the new one. The old one was still being made in Mexico.

Imran: Ignorant. The VW Bug will always be a legend, because it was the most affordable, reliable car for a long time. My parents owned 3, and think of them fondly to this day.

It said the "last new Volkswagen bug" was going to roll off the assembly line, meaning the last newly manufactured bug. "Bug" is the nickname of the old Beetle, it doesn't refer to the New Beetle.

                        We have a Cadillac Ranch.
It may be appropriate to start a Bug Ranch.

I was under the impression the New Beetle was a peice of ****. At least, it looks ugly as the ****.

Not sure where you got that idea, mrmitchell...

At Consumer Guide Automotive, we strive to make the complicated car-buying experience less daunting, all while helping you pick out the vehicle that’s best for you. As such, we hope you find this website to be the fastest and easiest way to begin the search for your next new or used vehicle.

"Competition: Our only Best Buy in this class, the Volkswagen New Beetle, offers interesting styling and a nice mix of comfort, performance, and economy. The New Beetle is the most practical and affordable in this class [sporty coup]."

I've never seen a negative review of them, and everyone who I know who owns one raves about them (although people tend to be biased towards their own cars).

I think the look great. Better looking than any other coups I can think of. They're cute!
