You know this movie sea biscuit. What's the deal? isn't horse racing inhumane or something? And people love all kinds of horses not just race horses. Maybe because I grew up in the younger culture with no money to ride a horse, let alone own one- I just can't relate.

My neighbour owns a horse. One of my work colleagues in my last job owned a horse. Both of them do/did this to indulge themselves in the way insecure women do. By that I mean the mindset of "look at how much I am spending on this, I can afford to do this so I must be a special person". The neighbour goes to race meetings for the same reason.
People like horses in a general sense for cultural reasons, presumbly linked to myths about opening up the west and the plains indians in the US and military tradition and agriculture in europe. Otherwise people have different personal reasons for liking or being involved with horses, sometimes economic like the racing industry, sometimes personal inadequacy.Never give an AI an even break.

Horses are smarter, nicer, and better than most people.
Why would anyone NOT like them ?Life is not measured by the number of breaths you take, but by the moments that take your breath away.
