Was yesterday! It went great
Actually there were two... We (the group) played at an old folks club at five-thirty and at about ten played at a bar-restaraunt.
We had a grand program put together, some slow airs plus several very nice jigs and reels and a few Turlough O'Carolan tunes (for those of you who know about Irish Music). The audience loved it and we were given dates for more preformances in both places.
Problems include: Me ****ing up two solos (got mixed up in the middle) - although mostly nobody outside the group noticed - Michael (being the elderly founder of the group) being extremely neurotic during set-up and generally, fighting between Sharon (side-flute player in her twenties) and Michael and the fiddle player seeing the tunes only four times in her life (she did remarkably well too, esp. being a classical player; played the jigs almost as well as me ) and the biggest problem of all - we got paid pennies...
I played tinwhisles, low whistles, bodhran and spoons. I enjoed my first concert and got a lot of compliments from the audience after it was over even before I told them it was my first time
I was feeling really nice after the concert, sitting at a table, drinking Guinness and smoking a pipe, and getting compliments
