    I'm curious :
    1) why so many people are concerned with Texas,
    2) do you really feel it appropriate for a group of elected officials to go into hiding ?

How many US states have minority parties that go into hiding from time to time?

And what's that to do with other states?

              1) Bushie Wushie is from Texas (He was born in New England but those morons in Texas don't care.

              2) Yes, they are being steamrolled by the republicans' Gerrymandering, if I was one of those dems I would do the some thing.

                Ugh.

Look, both parties are evil. Both parties have done this to each other in the past and will probably do it again in the near future. If not in Texas, then elsewhere. So the "Republicans are X!" or "Democrats are Y!" (where X and Y are silly, insulting descriptions) don't make sense. BOTH parties are X AND Y.

In the meantime, though, I'll root for the party that's (even transparently) standing up for the people they represent. In this case, it happens to be the Democrats.

I also think that a serious investigation needs to be undertaken into the actions of Mr. DeLay and his staff. For those of you who don't know, DeLay (or someone on his staff) told the Department of Homeland Security that a certain airplane (which happened to be carrying the Democrats) was in distress or was missing. So, DHS sent out aircraft looking for it. Other Federal agencies were also involved, but none were informed that they were looking for the running "Killer D's". That is a *serious* abuse of power and a worrying waste of public resources.

And, of course, all the documents were shredded right before they were subpoenaed.

DeLay...sounds like that Enron guy...no....that was Kenneth Lay...ahh, the Great State of Texas, that brought us an intellectual lightweight for Presdient, senseless state-pride, and shredding documents.

See, in Texas they even vote TWICE. So it's corrupt, too!
