  • Would you have done anything?

Ok, today I was walking home, through a park. I noticed this man, obivously drunk out of his mind, stumbling around on the other side of the park. I didn't think to much of it, until he dropped something. As he went down to pick it up, I realized what it was; a huge knife. I mean, it must have been near a foot long, just huge...Anyway, he picked it up, tucked it under his shirt and kept on stumbling down the path he was on.

I was scared to say the least, so I quickened my pace, and got the hell out of there.

I know I might be jumping to conclusions, but if he ever had stabbed someone, I don't know if I'd be able to live with myself. I mean, I definatly wasn't going to confront him or anything, but I'm starting to think maybe I should have called the cops or something.

    Would you have done anything?

I would have looked for a cop and pointed the man out to him/her. That's about all you could do.

Yeah, I would've pointed him out to someone if it was possible. I wouldn't aproach a drunkard, knife or not.

Maybe he was just a reluctant prophet looking for a virginal sacrifice. If you're not a virgin, it shouldn't scare you.

Or maybe he's going to the moon to get some cheese. Everyone knows the moon's made of cheese.

No, I live in P.E.I, which is quite a small place, and the crime rate is low so there arn't many cops. There wern't any cops in sight, so the best I could have done was call 'em when I got home.

OK - I hope someone picks the guy up. Actually Toronto isn't that bad: that is until Zylka moves here.

Guess I'd have taken a mental description to pass on in case there was a local knifing.

It's not like you can prempt criminals. Pity.

I would have taken the knife and pretended I have x-ray specs that I can see people's internal organs with. But I don't.

ask him whether he has a knife and what does he intend to do with it?

                      Than act accordingly...

hello sir, I am doing a survey for the local government, and I have three questions:

                      1. are you drunk?
                      2. do you have a knife?
                      3. what for?

here is paper and pen, please fill in the form

other than that, walk away... and think it was a paper knife he was carrying with him... or if you were not convinced enough it was usedd for cutting paper, call the cops...

                        Call the cops.
That's what they get the big money for handling.
Or did he have a concealed weapon permit?
                        No. That's handguns only.

point out any cops in the immediate area to him.

if there aren't any, just slightly speed up on your pace. don't worry about things that _could have_ happened.

I might've pointed him out to a cop, if there was one around.

Umm - aren't handguns a little more dangerous than knices though?

He might have just had the knife to make a really big sandwich.
