Bagdad Bob suspected for Swedish murders

Mohammed Saed Kadhum al-Sahaf, AKA ''Bagdad-Bob'' was the Iraqi ambassador in Stockholm in the mid 80's. During this period, several Iraqi opposition members were murdered in Sweden. Bagdad Bob is not suspected for the actual "wet jobs" but was possibly involved in the plot. Now that Saddam's regime has fallen, the Swedish police hope that some people who previously stonefaced might start to talk and reveal the truth behind the murders.

Correction, Oerdin. We hope they find out if he actually was in charge of the killings. I could go out there and say George Bush murdered 600 Russian peasants, but that wouldn't make it true would it?

Saddam was very much a chain-of-command dependent ruler. Unless somebody closer to Saddam and higher up the chain were present in Sweden it didn't happen without Bagdad-Bob's say and assistance.
