Let it die, just like prog-rock...
Within weeks they'll be re-opening the shipyards
And notifying the next of kin
        Once again...

Man, was I glad when they invented Punk and we could get over pretending being intellectuals and drooling over pretentious s**t. I'll be your roundabout for sure...
I liked New Wave, but Punk had such a low percentage of bands worth listening to that I avoided it for the most part. I prefer more complex composition, less screaming and people who can actually play their instruments. Green Day is probably my favorite Punk band of all time, as they seem to have avoided most of these pitfalls.

                  King Crimson all the way

And why exactly is that bad news? Kiddies pop idols never stay idols for long...

But are you implying that your beloved prog-rockers are in the same league as Britney Spears and Shakira (who she?)?

                      King Crimson was very good.
All are good choices, I especially like ELP.
My vote though, will have to go to Pink Floyd.

No. I was just thinking what the hell You may be listening to now, that You are fed up with musicians trying to be intellectual...

Dream Theater is much better than all of the rest.
They are dominant technically and musically (which are the most important issues in prog-rock anyway)

but I guess bands like Pink Floyd (which is more symphonical rock) and Genesis get most votes because more people know these bands.

I have to admit I've never heard of Dream Theater. If you had to suggest an album for the nonbeliever, what would it be?

Right now I'm listening to the news on the radio

Yesterday evening it was mainly reggae, but it might as well been Sinatra, 40's music or Johnny Cash. Or something else...
