BTW, Pratchet wrote some other things except discworld. He wrote nice book about different types of cats

When i read Discworld i feel that i read real English book. When i read Harry Potter it looks like "English for foreighners" textbook for me.

Why almost nobody votes for others? DO you know any other good authors?

Yes he wrote also a book about Video-Games. I forgot the title but it was pretty good. Must have been somewhere around gulfwar1 when he wrote it. Great book.

I've never read either Pratchet or Rowling, but based on the photos of the authors I'd rather sleep with Rowling.

Douglas Adams was emminently forgettable as far as I was concerned, the only thing that remains in my memory was the Rain God driving through the permastorm. Adams put me back on non-fiction for good.

But he touched it too much!

Phillip Pullman, although Rowling and Pratchet are both excellent.

            You're also so un-hip it's a wonder your bum doesn't fall off.

"Only You Can Save The World". It was pretty good, but I always prefered "The Carpet People", which was my favourite book when I was 10 years old.

Pratchett has written 5 or 6 really excellent books for pre-teen kids. Every kid at my primary school was hooked on the Truckers/Diggers/Wings trilogy.

I've been reading through the discworld series one book after the other, in order. So far I've read about 20 and just finished Jingo. I couldn't find the next book (The Last Continent) in the store, though, so I'm reading The Salmon of Doubt to fill the gap for now.

Terry Pratchett also co-wrote the book Good Omens, which I liked alot aswell.
