Over due library books.

    hey oerdin:

    i know that book! yes, it was stupid, but i liked it too, at the time.

    longest i've kept one out was a paperback from the dekalb co. library system. they've stopped counting them, so if you don't return them they don't really charge you anything (i think. i don't recall them sending me any letter or message saying the book was overdue).
    so i've a copy of watership down and zen and the art of motorcycle maintenance which i've now kept for roughly two and a half years.

      Every school library I've ever used seems to lose the one book I take out on odd occasions. I'm pretty sure I always took the book back, but I would spend a week hunting desperately around my house, a month feeling vaguely guilty, then forget about it until the end of term when the slip of paper came through again asking where the book was. It's a conspiracy.

      I don't often get overdue fees, since I usually just ring up the library on the day the book is due back and get it renewed. I did find they get a bit pissed off if you do this 5 times (with three week intervals between each call). It was about 4 months I had those books...
