When the Israeli far left spouts out this crap, can you blame the Neo-nazis?

Yes, far-right jews really think we own washington. I guess you're not very knowledgeable of Israeli opinions. The far right doesn't like Bush. Their opinions are rather similar to mine, ironically enough, and they think that the US will do as it pleases, and we must stop tying ourselves to american policy, since we behave like puppets now.

Austrian far right LOVE muslims. Haider called Saddam Hussein frequently a nice guy and he was an intimus of Iraqi foreign minister Sabri (some think he might be in Austria). Several people from the far right FPÖ-party are close with Arabs. So are many from the left - almost nobody likes Israel (ISRAEL, not jews, well, many don't like either) over here.

Well, then far right Jews in Washington and Jerusalem don't think alike, cause in Washington many right wing Jews do like Bush, far more than anyone else. They are certainly angry at the road map- but they have "faith" the raabs won;t follow through, that BUsh won;t push too hard, and they have confidence in their allience with the Christian Far right, which is a powerfull and solid base for the right here in the US.

Interstingly enough, it seems Avery shares your (and right wing) worries that Israel is hitched too much with Washington...hmmm indeed.

Azazel: the porblem is you forget that public opinion anywhere does not equal reality, only thoughts.

It is a fact that there is a pro-Israel lobby in washington that is very [powerful when it comes to influencing Mid-East policy. This lobby is made up of Jews, people who sympathize with the idea of zionism, and the Christian far right lobby. This lobby has done rather well for itself, seeing how Israel has been, for the last 20+ years the largest recipient of direct US aid, of US military aid, and of loans that are never really meant to be paid back. This success leads many people of both left and right to imagne that this lobby is all mighty when it comes to US foreing policy in the Mid-East. What this ignores is the power of other lobbies in Wahsington: the Saudis have huge power, since they are the ones who control., as much as anyone can, world Oil pirces, their chummy relations with oil industry, and they are the biggest buyers of US weapons. There is also a groups of foreing polciy people who don;t crae for anything but cold U inetrests,a nd both these groups can act to counter the pro-Israel lobby. Both

Avery and you are wrong: Israel does not run Wahsington, and Washington does not run Israel. What is true is that as of right now there is a very close connection between the two. That not everyone is happy about the closeness of that relation, well, too bad, no?

And the sad part is that such people are getting more and more palces in univiersities, since normal people try to avoid the loonies already working there.

What do you mean by that? do you mean people in Israeli unis? Those who support the refuseniks ( what an ugly word ) divide into two. The loony part of social and poly-sci. They're still far from being the majority. Then there are those that are generally ok, but think that we should get out of the west bank NOW. I have no problem with those, 'cept the fact they're criminals.

There's nothing stranger than a commie Jew
                            Hi!!

(Ok I'm communist in the proper sense, not the stalinist, but hey).

I personally just think that the pro-Israel people are now the conservatives (by definition), and a bastion of Westernism in the Middle East fits in very nicely with their imperalist (Reaganite/PNAC) counterparts in Washington.
