  • Would General Wesley Clark make a good president?

Lets face it, dems. We don't have a viable candidate that can beat this administration. The most outspoken liberal can't get the non-internet votes, the war hero doesn't appeal to even his own constituents in MA, the House Democrat Leader has spent more time apologizing than promising, and the most moderate is on a downward spiral fiscally.

This is exactly the reason there has been such a call for retired Army General Wesley Clark to run for president. A general, former NATO commander-in-chief, socially liberal, fiscally bright, lots of leadership experience, a Master's degree in Philosophy, Politics, and Economics from Oxford University, and no goofy smile. This guy is exactly what the dems need in order to remove Bushy and Co.

If he runs, I will vote for Wesley Clark. If he doesn't...I hope that he does.

Who isn't running for the Democratic nomination at this point? Are we shooting for 20 or 30 before the primaries?

I know him just a little. He is a bit of a golden boy type. I wouldn't vote for him, but he is interesting. Read his book. he doesn't really address key questions of opposition to his points of view. NEver really tees up the issues on Kosovo.

BTW, the poll is gawdawful in confusion. You even have duplicate same entries.

the second "I am a Republican, and I would vote for Wesley Clark over other dems, but not Pres Bush" should say

I am a non-Dem/Rep conservative, and I would vote for Wesley Clark over other dems, but not Pres Bush

If a mod could change that, I'd be much appreciated...

              Otherwise it shouldn't be confusing

I don't know. In fact, I would be so bold as to say nobody can make an accurate choice. His domestic plans are unknown, if existant at all. He has experience as a military leader... but beyond that, I'm not sure if he would make a good president. Barring some sort of psychopathic ideology that he follows, I'd probably prefer him to Bush. But the again, Clark bombed Beograd on Easter. That's utterly shameful and dishonorable.

Don't you mean Dean will make Clark his vice-president? I doubt Dean would take himself out of the race to be second-fiddle to some unknown who hasn't even declared a party.

Oh, yes, I see how you can interpret what I wrote that way. It's a rather silly sentence when said that way, however.

Clark will make a nice vice-president for Dean.

The reality is that the dems are saving all their big guns for 2008. Hillary namely.

I'm telling you I'll flee the country if she ever sits in the big chair.

But if she gets ousted from her senator seat in 2006 it is all over for her. Which is why the Republicans will give 100% for that particular race.

How about, "Clark will BE a nice vice-president for Dean"... unless perhaps, Clark creates vice-presidential candidates in some dungeon using lightning bolts to re-energize dead flesh.
