That's okay. Soon America will field our dreaded ...

STRYKER SWARM (tm) in both Liberia and Iraq. It will teach all to fear the future of our armored forces.

This will teach all tinpot Guereillas a lessonthey won't soon forget.
Today, you are the waves of the Pacific, pushing ever eastward. You are the sequoias rising from the Sierra Nevada, defiant and enduring.

I saw some of those here at Ft Sill a month ago. They were participating in some excercises.
Which side are we on? We're on the side of the demons, Chief. We are evil men in the gardens of paradise, sent by the forces of death to spread devastation and destruction wherever we go. I'm surprised you didn't know that. --Saul Tigh

It "deploys quickly around the word, is C-130 transportable, and is designed to handle low-intensity conflicts"

Oh yeah, and RPGs make them 'splode good. This is the sort of thing Mr. Rumsfeld wants to replace our heavy "legacy" armor with.

Armor is substantially thinner/weaker than a Bradley.

I seem to recall that the Stryker system relies heavily on standoff capabilities, which a lot of supporters claim makes up for the lack of armor. I'll take legacy armor any day.

Don't worry. That C-130 that's delayed coming has the snap-on armor.

How many innocent civilians would die if the LURD took over? It sounds like resistence is light, after all.
I came upon a barroom full of bad Salon pictures in which men with hats on the backs of their heads were wolfing food from a counter. It was the institution of the "free lunch" I had struck. You paid for a drink and got as much as you wanted to eat. For something less than a rupee a day a man can feed himself sumptuously in San Francisco, even though he be a bankrupt. Remember this if ever you are stranded in these parts. ~ Rudyard Kipling, 1891

Also Taylor's forces outnumber the LURD by 10 to 1. I don't know why he won't push them back right now unless he is planning something. Damn... he is going to slaughter them if they near government buildings... let them enter and then surround them. Yikes.. this is going to get real ugly.
For there is [another] kind of violence, slower but just as deadly, destructive as the shot or the bomb in the night. This is the violence of institutions -- indifference, inaction, and decay. This is the violence that afflicts the poor, that poisons relations between men because their skin has different colors. - Bobby Kennedy (Mindless Menance of Violence)

It'll teach them that roadbound and hard, smooth off-road surface limited forces are a lot easier to channelize into effective killing zones than tracked forces.

                            Stryker sucks ass.

A bunch. There's never "heavy resistance" in African wars, because everyone knows the combatants don't observe any of the normal restraints. So you make a quick assessment of whoever is likely to win (which always seems to be the offense, since defense requires planning and discipline), and if you're not one of them, you get the **** out of Dodge.

Yes, the wheels should have been my first clue but the lack of armor beat me over the head with that fact.
