What they should have asked was do you think there's any likelihood of either of the two main US political parties putting either a woman or an ethnic minority candidate up for election as president, seriously?

Don't be silly. We have detention camps to put them in. Wonderful places with barb wire fences, and very basic accomidation. Frankly these nasty boat people should be bloody grateful that we lock them up like that for years on end, before sending back home to be brutally killed [which is exactly what has happened in some cases].

Really we've gone soft on these refugees. Back in the good old days [the mid 70's] Australia was looking at developing nuclear weapons so that we could nuke all these illegal boat people. That would have stopped them trying to come over here.

[I'm not kidding. The leading supportier of Australia going nuclear said we would need nukes after the USA and USSR blew the Northern Hemisphere away to keep the millions of refugees, fleeing the environmental detruction of half the world, out of our comparitively intact bit of it. So all these people complaining about our slightly cruel manditory detention practices should be grateful we aren't nuking them ]
