    Question about Windows

    Is there anyway to find out how long MS will be support each individual OS?
    I am just wondering now that server 2003 is out how long they will still be supporting windows 2000? 2000 and XP way to similar to justify upgrading, so I want to get as much life out of 2000 as I can.

    They have fixed 5-year support now, IIRC.

        Cool site.
        Win2K support ends March 31, 2004 (2005 for system builders).

        That means you can upgrade to Longhorn once Win2K's expires.

            Longhorn is a major new version of Windows coming out in 2005.

            Windows 2000 was NT 5.0, Windows XP was NT 5.1, and Longhorn will be NT 6.0.

                        wasn't one of the touts of XP that it combined the reliability of 2000 and the compatibility with software of 98?
