I will finally be watching this on terrestrial TV tonight at 20:15, my expectations are rock bottom so I may even end up enjoying it...
Is it me, or is MOBIUS a horrible person?

You never even saw the movie but still saw fit to vent your spleen over it in these forums?

To us, it is the BEAST.

        Yes!

In fact I even had the opportunity to see it for free but still boycotted it because I didn't want to be added to the viewing figures...

Its a decent film, if you ignore the historical inaccuracy that the US navy were the first to get the enigma codes, and that their capture of them was of absolute importance.

Didn't the Brits get it off a fishing trauler a few years before U-571 is supposedly set?

                What's the big deal?

Why not watch "The Sound Barrier", by David Lean instead? It's a gripping account of how the sound barrier was first broken by a heroic British test pilot.

And incorrect. (Yeager did it.) Just like the Frenchies who think that the Wright Brothers werent't the first to fly in powered flight.

Why ***** about U-571? It doesn't say it's a historical documentary or anything? It'd be like protesting Young Einstein, because AE wasn't from Australia, etc.

It doesn't say it isn't either - if almost half the pop of the US can't even figure out that Al Qaeda and the Taliban were based in Afghanistan or that 30% of them can't even point to the Pacific Ocean despite the fact that the entire US western seaboard is a part of it - then we can fairly expect these same morons to believe that it is historically accurate...

No one I've spoken to about this movie believed it to be anything else but total fiction.
