  • Srebrenica (justice)

Yesterday was the anniversary of the fall of UN protected zone of Srebrenica. It was protected by a small contigent of Dutch soldiers which were no match for massed Serb militias. (Though Dutch government did resign over this afterwards)

After the city was taken, thousands upon thousands of muslim men were captured and executed. The operation lasted for days.

    Justice?

The muslim commander of Srebrenica is nowadays in Hague expecting a trial. Radovan Kara?i? (Karadic) is still at large.

Is it justice? What do you think?

    I think it is not.

the fact that they didn't catch him hardly means that they're not looking for him.

I wrote a term paper on Srebrenica. Sad stuff.

Why is the muslim commander at the hague?

But I agree, all responsible should be there.

Events like that should be taught and not forgotten mainly because of the lessons which should be made directly from them.

I don't get it. Muslim commander orders his troops to kill muslim men?

Raids from Srebrenica to behind enemy lines. Allegedly some civilians got killed by his troops who did it.

You will also hear some Serbs use that as justification for what they did.

Pekka, no, commander of the defenders is in Hague, commanders of the attackers are free.

Which I would not mind if it was only a military operation.

But what followed makes it imperative that no resources are spared to bring the bastards to justice.

Bebro, they are obviously not looking hard enough.

Yes, because the west sides with the Serbs.

Damn, what a stupid civil war. Why was it needed?

Nope, that's not justice. It's only justice once Mladic and Karadic have been caught and tried, and probably some key figures at NATO/UN and maybe even the Dutch government/army as well (calling something a Safe Area and then refusing to act when the people seeking refuge there are being massacred is a serious crime in my mind).

The west does not side with the Serbs right now. The west does not give a shi<>t who is it in Hague, they only want to have plenty of people there so they can say "here, we have the barbarians who are guilty for this" and hide their own dirty consciences.

Because they could have stopped the whole thing if they cared to do it.

Try telling that to the women and children of Srebenica. Mladic murdered 8000 of their men...

So, Azazel, you think the Nuremberg trials only stood in the way of peace as well, then?
