Texas weather is really funky; it's not unusual for isolated areas to get drenched while nearby areas go dry.. oh and rain when there's not a cloud in the sky."I bet Ikarus eats his own spunk..."

They have a saying in Texas:
" If you dont like the weather, just wait 5 minutes"
In january, its common to have one week with freezing temperatures, and the next with 80 degree (farenhieght) temperatures. It can go from ice, to sunshine and heat in a matter of a night. A lot of places are like this, but most Ive found to be a bit more consistent in their weather patterns."I bet Ikarus eats his own spunk..."

well, the average is about 30 inches, but ths doesnt say much, cause like i said, the weather is very eractic. The annual rainfall is usually between 10 and 50 inches tho. The last couple years have been extremely wet. in october of 1998 we had "the flood of the century". The worst flooding ever happened then, pretty spectacualr and devestating. we werent supposed to have another thing like that for another 100 years... come fall 2000 (or 2001... forget), we had an *even* worse flood.
Throughout the mid 90s the SA area was racked with drought. Water restrictions sucked, especially when your a kid, adn we had to live with them for what seemed forever."I bet Ikarus eats his own spunk..."

A desert is any area that recieves ten inches or less of rain per yer. Technically Utar is a desert.American by birth, smarter than the average tropical fruit by the grace of Me. -me

30in of rain, highly seasonal, sounds like the Texas Savanna area, but I thought that was EAST Texas?
(Texas Savanna is a type of grassland with groves of Mestique, Juniper, Acacia, and other North American trees adapted to long dry spells.)
