Depends on how you play, high stats in 2E will get you to 9th level fairly quick, after that its all high level campaigning anyway.Comment

I'll make my question a little more specific.
You cannot cast ninth level spells unless you are at least seventeenth level; that is why I decided to limit myself to three non-wizard levels. The way my character is shaping up in my head, I want more than three non-wizard levels, but I don't want to sacrifice ninth level spells if there is a hard cap at twentieth level.
