That person would be a loser. I don't think someone who refuses because he thinks it's immoral would be in the same camp.

BTW Michael, as an ex-military man, I thought you would have heard all the military discharge jokes before.

Unpatriotic, maybe. Loser, no. I person who can see the costs and benefits involved and make the best decision for himself is a winner.

You should have done that before you reported for duty.

Having heard them, and considering them appropriate in the context of the forum rules are two different things.

Why does the military not leave anyone behind ?

Having been in the military, I can tell you that most of us DO understand that fact. But you're life has more value than it did, say, 50 years ago.

This Administration is trying to cut veteran's benefits, it's trying to cut imminent danger pay from a shockingly low $225 a month to a "**** you" of $150 a month. I has opposed a plan to raise the amount of death benefits for families killed while on active duty from $6,000 to $12,000.

Your country obviously doesn't give a **** about you other than mouthing platitudes about how they support the troops. When it comes to real support, they're doing what they've always done, and shafted the the men and women who put their lives on the line.

                            It's just sad.

All this at the hands of a man who deserted his post, a post that he only got to dodge the draft in the first place.

It sickens me that people who were so vehemently accusing those opposed to the war of hurting our troops have the asses in the air and their cheeks spread for a usurper and deserter who has done more to hurt US soldiers than any president since Nixon.
Christianity: The belief that a cosmic Jewish Zombie who was his own father can make you live forever if you symbolically eat his flesh and telepathically tell him you accept him as your master, so he can remove an evil force from your soul that is present in humanity because a rib-woman was convinced by a talking snake to eat from a magical tree...

IMO The Bush administrations integrity was one of the first casualties of the war,I believe that I even went so far as to recomend that there be a investigation to expose the amount of corporate ties to energy companies who have existing or potential stake in the war .That will however be the next step that the American people or some segment there of will undertake.
The War while not presently at near the scope of the Viet-nam conflict is potentially worse since both the Area of occupation as well as the populatioin that we are working with is larger, and the risk of further esculation can not be ruled out. (i.e.Iran Tajik and Kazack.) Some of which do have factions and interest that would support the U.S. If it is true that America cannot achieve to gain any further support from other western powers besides the UK then (even thoe I think this is false) it is more propper that the Iraqi s make decisions and enforce the laws as they see them so long as they do not possess a offensive military and are subject to monitors.
Further measures to reduce the oppositions ability to recruit assasins might include Partnership for peace troops from friendlier Muslim nations being deployed
The world is a messy place, and unfortunately the messier it gets, the more work we have to do."
