    Educational discounts

    I'm going to be buying an IBM ThinkPad T40 within the next few days. Because it's quite a bit of money, I'd love to get an educational price on it and probably save a few hundred dollars.

    But I don't know where. My campus computer store only sells Apples, Compaqs, Sony's and Toshiba's.

    Do companies usually give you an educational price if you phone them and order it, saying you're a student?

      Thanks Sloww, but I'm trying to find something based in Canada if possible.

      Customs is a b*tch, especially on expensive items.

            Both the computer stores at UVic charge about 5% more than the local retailers. I guess it helps that we're out in the suburbs.

                Uh, take a small loan and buy a all-in-one dell inspiron 8500, thats what im gonna do

                              Because it's fast and more power saving/faster than regular Pentium 4 and you cant change it
