Conservation would work in Liberia how? Regulating arms sales.. yeah I agree... what imperialism? Taylor is an anti-european/anti-american like Mugabe... corporate abuse? Companies aren't gonna do business in a place like Liberia.. it is too dangerous.
I'm talking about solutions to terrorism in general. Pay attention please.
To us, it is the BEAST.

Here's a bizarre article about Liberians trying to sooth American fears about Liberia being another Somalia. Our troops kick ass, but we need to be told that our troops have nothing to fear...

One thing that strikes me is that in these articles we are only hearing about those on the urban side of the God Bless You Gate. Everybody this side of the God Bless You Gate just seems incredibly war weary.
I came upon a barroom full of bad Salon pictures in which men with hats on the backs of their heads were wolfing food from a counter. It was the institution of the "free lunch" I had struck. You paid for a drink and got as much as you wanted to eat. For something less than a rupee a day a man can feed himself sumptuously in San Francisco, even though he be a bankrupt. Remember this if ever you are stranded in these parts. ~ Rudyard Kipling, 1891

YOU PAY ATTENTION TO THE SUBJECT for once! This is about Liberia.
For there is [another] kind of violence, slower but just as deadly, destructive as the shot or the bomb in the night. This is the violence of institutions -- indifference, inaction, and decay. This is the violence that afflicts the poor, that poisons relations between men because their skin has different colors. - Bobby Kennedy (Mindless Menance of Violence)
