All of a sudden, I'm engaged

    Thanks for all the well wishes, everyone.

    I was originally going to propose when I returned to SD in a couple weeks for the SD Comic Convention. Since I got that out of the way, when I'm down there we're going to pick out rings and get everything sorted out. That's also when I'm going to let my parents know about all of this.

    And we're trying not to rush into this; we're waiting until I graduate from college at the very least to actually get married, which will be about 2 years from now.

      Wise move. 2 years is a good time to know whether the couple can continue to click after a long-lasting relationship.

            Even though you said in the original post that you're now engaged, I was kind of excited when I read the other forum 'say yes, say yes!'.. And she did.

            Some generations say to their grandchildren 'I met your mom at WWII in France/Belgium/just before I was shipped/etc etc'. Times have changed. Post pics! Though I remember vaguely seeing some pictures of you and her in some apartment and she was pretty, so

                    Wise move to wait until you graduate (and presumably get a job) before actually getting hitched. Clearly you two have got your heads screwed on straight about this.
