    It's natural for CEOs to get such higher pay. If they recieved lower pay they might actually identify with their employees. The higher pay makes it easier for them to seperate themselves. Maybe, just a thought. I really don't think it takes specific talent or anything, just a willingness to be evil.

            When a CEO is making multimillions a year yet is cutting workers, something is seriously out of whack.

              Socialist.

              A CEO's job (any senior exec's job) is to increase shareholder value. If cutting workers is a part of that, then so be it. Or should every company go out and hire people to lower profits when they don't have productive use for the people they have?

              Cutting workers is often an excuse for other forms of mismanagement, but it is also often a necessary result of adapting to changing markets and business cycles.

                  It is wrong when the boss is being paid more per year than it would cost to keep those employees on...

                          Come to the company I am working at where the boss made £8 million last year but made many, many people redundant and has made the lives of a significant proportion of the workforce living hell...
