totally off-topic but try this cool game.

      1. try to put a satellite in orbit

      2. Stable orbit

      3. Stable, non-wildly elliptical orbit.

      Harder than it looks.

Watch out for that stupid moon.

Remember you can control the direction and (to some extent) the velocity of your sats.

there seem to be three 'sweet spots'

high velocity release right near earth can result in a tight, fast circular orbit.

low velocity release right between earth-moon. Tends to break down because of the moon.

low velocity circle out side earth moon, with the moon always on the other side so it won't pull you.

            At last!

4 1/2 stable roughly circular ...make that 4 stable orbits.

Scientists said on Wednesday that the huge mass may be a rare type of giant octopus or just discarded whale blubber.

              HA HA HA

                  YAY!

I just made one do a figure-eight around the earth and the moon

                      5

I'm proud of this last one, really close and circular.

                      Not decaying at all.

the moon keeps trying to slightshot one of mine into the void.

this one has done about 15 rotations of the earth but every one is different shape

my one satellite is still going, i don't know how, the moon almost gets it sometimes. sometimes it almost disappears into the viod but he is haning in there

Mine is VERY close in to the earth. It orbits in a rotating elllipse (the furthest-away point rotates with the moon). The closest-point is always on a pixel RIGHT NEXT TO the earth!

                              6, but it's a crappy erratic.

erratics eventually crash or get slingshotted by the moon.
