    awesome song...

    where's the headbanger smiley?

I'm listening to a live-cover from The Scorpions. Did Kansas write this song? I'm not knowledgable about classic rock.

Dust in the Wind, AFAIK, Kansas wrote it.

Nice song, but a bit too nihilistic for me.

They also wrote "Carry On Wayward Son", which was featured in the movie Heroes starring Henry Winkler and (I think) Sally Field.

They used to be one of my favvorite groups. All their songs were quality writing

I'm on a Kansas DLing fest... perhaps tomorrow I'll buy a CD if my dad doesn't have one. Anyone else know if other bands have done covers on Dust in the Wind?

I've not heard any covers of it over the years. They did do a kick-a$$ version on the "Two for the Show" live album.

Kansas lives here in Topeka Kerry Livgren, their main songwriter who wrote "Dust in the Wind", left the band back in the 80's becoming a Christian, but has made appearances with the band since leaving. IMO, their best album is "LeftOverture" with abolitionist John Brown on the cover.

Oh, if you like Dust in the Wind, try The Wall and Cheyenne Anthem from LeftOverture.
