              Canadian here and its patently obvious that we are better than MOST countries on almost any measure an average person might use. But as has been pointed out, there are a lot of crappy, impoverished totalitarian countries out there.

              Just the fact that we are all sitting in front of computers with internet access means we are all sitting more comfortably and freely than about half the world.

                I don't think my country is better than most. I however think I'm better than most of my countrymen. So.. I disagree.

                  we don't have that taboo in norway. we are generally more nationalistic (in a joyful, non-racist way of course) than other scandies I guess. I think it's because we were a "colony" for so long.
