I don't think so. My family makes an excellent barbeque... I love barbeque! But nothing makes up for a gross lack of ethnic cuisine and mastery of seafood. I'll stay in my land of olive oil and garlic, thank you very much...

The south as a whole sucks. But ...

New Orleans is the birthplace of jazz and the home of delta blues. Los Hombres Callientes, Kermit Ruffins, any Marsalis ... Of course, given that New Orleans doesn't suck ...

Although the fact that the south sucks might explain why the music can be good.

Oh, and punk originated in New York, baby! Of course listening to the Ramones its obvious that the Brits made punk good.

Texas Punk

I hung out in the Austin Punk scene back in the day, but other than Pumping Ethyl (who were from Dallas), The Nimoys/Little Boy Henry/The Ritalin Kids/Riddlin' Kids, 30 Ft. Fall, and Dynamite boy - what Texas punk?

Oh and the food sucks outside Louisiana. Give me some Boudin, Blackened Redfish, and bread pudding anyday.

But hold the BBQ.
