my point exactly... in my school, many, many brilliant minds were turned away form the sciences because the curriculum sucked. who knows what they could have accomplished

Kramerman, Yes.. I will be mentioning after 10 years in threads.. still.. I have already requested info on all the stipends I can apply for. But I can't promise I'll play nice with those armadillos.. something about them makes me want to kick then around. Like Super Mario Bros, I just need to stomp them.

school is mainly a social institution to teach you how to work with others.

It's educational value is sketchy at best. You learn the basics, that's about it. It's mainly to teach you enough to get into a state public college.

I miss it though . 6 hours a day is so much better than the amount of hours I worked in the navy, and the 10 hour days I do now. It was so great having a job to get me plenty of money, and also have no responsibilities. Well my job had responsibilities- but not really- it was a breeze for me.

btw it is high school I miss, not middle school. I was treated pretty badly in middle school. I was going to school in a good neighborhood, and I didn't really fit in (I was poor and listened to heavy metal). Plus I was in advanced classes, so I really didn't fit in with those preppies and nerds. But then I moved and went to an inner city high school. A much, much poorer school. At least I felt like I wasn't the poorest kid in school. Nobody paid attention to me, and that was just fine by me

Really? I have never seen one in real life.. we only have boring animals like wolves and bears. And they're usually shy too. No snakes, spiders.. nothing. Not even armadillos. But I think I hate them. Man, you're the one in Texas talking about lack of firepower I have a pellet gun though.. There's a shooting club next to me, and they say they have desert eagle.. I just might go and test that one out! Also Magnum 44 is supposed to be there.. when I get my butt there, maybe I go shopping and then we can shoot armadillos with big hand guns and drink beer. Hey, it might be even legal there!

uh oh, no natural sciences for me, I can do it in theory, but it's to ostressful and eats up my mind after some time... so I've decided to go for social sciences, either politics or history or both in a mix

Most people look back on their high school days with fondness. Never again will you have so much free time and so few responsibilities. "The best days of your life" is the cliche, and like all cliches there's more than a little truth to it.

Don't be so quick to knock all the "useless" classes you had to take. You can't really know what you're going to be doing 10, 15 or 20 years down the road.

In America, high school is the last freebie you get. You've been pampered, hand-held and supported from birth to graduation. From now on, people will only part with their knowledge for money. No more free rides. I, for one, wish I had paid attention more in some of those "boring" classes.
