Memento is good... though on the list, I'd take out Magnolia. I've also heard wonderful things about Unforgiven, but that ain't anywhere near a comedy (or lightheaded in anyway) .
“I give you a new commandment, that you love one another. Just as I have loved you, you also should love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.”

i'd strike magnolia, lynch's dune, and vanilla sky from that list.

magnolia just... one wonders if you're supposed to feel anything towards any of the characters. anything at all. the movie itself seems to try too hard.

lynch's dune sucks. if you don't know dune, you won't know the movie. if you do know dune, lynch's dune will be a mockery and a travesty. wierding modules? wtf?

as for vanilla sky, it's not that it's bad, but that the original, the spanish abre los ojos, is far better.

                        Spoiler:
That's exactly what's intended... as the film is trying to say that it's God's duty to do so

Have you read the Old Testament? It helps a lot the second time through this brilliant movie...

Well, I made the right choice: American Beauty was a great movie. Thanks everyone who suggested it.

Kyle, anytime you want to watch Brazil, I have the criterion version for you to borrow - uncut, and preserved in it's original widescreen. You're always welcome to it!

Once tried to watch Brazil, it was just too boring. Everyone praises it. Are there 2 Brazils?

                                That's what I wondered

I got about 2/3 the way through it.

It was too British for me I suppose. Though the director was born in Minnesota I believe. But he became a British citizen fairly young.

12 Monkeys was so much better, and more in tune with the real world- though some of the singing sequences kept some of that weird flavour Brazil had.
